DeVos Hires Killough; Porche as Softball Assistants
8/1/2008 - Charlotte 49ers head softball coach Aimee DeVos has announced the hiring of former Charlotte 49ers standout Kristi Killough and Missy Porche as assistant coaches. Killough, a 2007 graduate of UNC Charlotte was head coach of Central Cabarrus High School's powerful softball program in 2008. Porche, who will join the program in October, was a first team all-Missouri Valley Conference pitcher at Missouri State. Read Full Release
All-Atlantic 10 Performer Sarah Malene Played On U-23 ASA National Championship Team
7/24/2008 - Charlotte 49ers softball's senior second baseman Sarah Malene. a three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection, helped the Virginia Legends win their third straight 23-and-under ASA National Tournament in Auburn, Alabama last week, July 17-20. The Virginia Legends went 7-2 in the Tournament and after coming from the Loser's Bracket they defeated the Georgia Fire twice (Game 1 - 6-1, Game 2 - 9-1) in the Championship game. Read Full Release
